The Community Hub & Playing Fields
Council, police and community services have been brought together under one roof at the Broughton Hub.
The hub provides a “one-stop shop” for people living in Broughton and Cheetham to access council services, as well as having neighbourhood policing teams based there, at the heart of the community.
Information on both Salford City Council and Manchester City Council services will be available at the Hub, catering for residents from both sides of the border, and it will also be home to the library, children’s centre, youth centre and sports facilities.
The hub is also home to the North West’s only purpose built trampoline hall and includes a flood lit all-weather games area and two grass football pitches. There are meeting rooms and event facilities that can be booked for private parties.
The landmark building was designed by Urban Vision and commissioned by Salford City Council as a key feature of the regeneration of Higher Broughton. The design, which was brought to life by construction delivery partners, Laing O’Rourke, incorporates open spaces to encourage community activities.
